Chronic dry eyes can cause serious discomfort, blurred vision and frustration. Cutting-edge diagnostic tools allow us to diagnose the source of your dry eye symptoms. With a detailed diagnosis, we can help find the right treatment for your unique case of dry eye.
Eyes come in all shapes and sizes, so it stands to reason that not every kind of contact lens will work for every kind of eye. Many patients have “hard to fit” eyes, making it difficult or uncomfortable for them to wear contact lenses. At Abbey Eye Care we specialize in fitting unique eye conditions such as keratoconus, post corneal transplant, severe dry eye and post laser surgery complications. We have invested extensive amounts of time in education to learn how to fit virtually any type of ocular condition.Technology also plays a significant role, that is why we have acquired advanced diagnostic and surface mapping instruments to help us custom design contact lenses, unique for each patient.
Cases of childhood myopia (nearsightedness – blurred distance vision) are becoming increasingly more common every year. Once a child develops myopia, the condition tends to get progressively worse as they grow, leaving them with very poor distance vision in adulthood and increased risk of retinal disease. We offer myopia control to help reduce myopic progression in children. Treatment options include: specially designed contact lenses (Ortho-K & MiSight), innovative spectacle lenses and prescription eye drops (Atropine). We can help preserve your child’s vision now and into the future.
Did you know that 1 in every 12 males experiences colour blindness (also called colour vision deficiency)? People with color blindness can usually still see colours but have colour confusions or see certain pairs of colours so similarly that they cannot tell them apart.
Abbey Eye Care is proud to be the first practice in Ontario to offer EnChroma; eyewear designed to help simulate full-colour vision for patients with colour blindness.
Abbey Eye Care looks forward to serving you and your family. Our office is located on the Southeast corner of Dundas and Third Line.
